Tullinaw Glamping @ Nabalu, Kundasang - 20 Things You Need To Know
Показать описание
20 Things you should know about Tullinaw Glamping
1) The soil stairs going to Tullinaw Glamping from Pekan Nabalu car park is quite slippery when it rains. I believe if the land belong to the owner, he/she might have cemented it all the way. But glampers should be longing for challenges right
2) The site is 100% powered by solar. If the daytime is cloudy or misty, there will be some drop in the total power capacity. However, don't worry. as you can see from the video, it was misty throughout the day, but the power still manage to last until 4am in the morning.
3) Good to prepare a fully charged power bank or two to charge your phones.
4) Also a good idea to save electricity at all times. Switch off unnecessary light. Don't use heat based electrical appliance such as iron etc. Kudos to owner for the environmentally solution. Perhaps invest in more battery in future
5) I'm using Digi as my telco line. Good internet connection with 4G
6) There is some shop (muslim) but close early. And to take the stairs up or down during the night time.. I would prefer to just prepare some maggi and biscuits for the night. Bring some mineral water for cooking & drinks
7) Nabalu is good place for souvenir shopping. There are also local fruits and food. Don't miss that.
8) Campsite available. Prepare the necessary items. It will be fun sitting around the campfire to counter the cold in the night. Perhaps some mashmallow?
9) Shared bathroom / toilet. There are two of them. Just not designated for each dome. Water is freezing cold in the morning due to no water heater. The water heater if any will deplete the power storage in no time. Best advice, heat up some water or just do away with bathing for the day
10) Choose Tulan Dome for couples. Notice the balcony is also smaller. Tulan is the dome below
11) Tadau Dome is more suited for family as you can easily fit in 4 adults in. The balcony is also more spacious
12) The entrance to the domes are secured with a lockable door inside. So no worry
13) 4 clean mattress provided with blankets. Things can get cold during night time. It is high altitude area
14) Special sleeping area above the main entrance. My daughter's favourite. But be careful
15) Indoor game such as monopoly, chess etc are available. Take good care of it as this is shared with other guest. Tips - bring your own indoor game if you have any.
16) Cooking utensil is complete. You can very well cook your dinner here. We of course lazy enough that Maggi is already heavenly
17) Enjoy the night light outside. If you just want to be indoors, might as well rent a hotel. Good if somehow the date booked is during full moon. Must be magical. Oh ya, the night light is automated. Some is connected to different solar power. So it can't be turned off. Why would you anyway?
18) Be sure to wake up early to see the sunrise. No sunset is visible but I bet the reddish sunset color splashing onto mount Kinabalu must be spectacular. In our visit, the day was misty
19) No better view to wake up to than the mount Kinabalu herself. Usually it is most visible during the early morning
20) Enjoy the sound of nature provided FOC at Tullinaw Glamping
Other things you need to know not mentioned in the clip
22) The place is not wheelchair friendly. Not the management's fault though
22) Hammock available. Nice to rest there enjoying the breeze
23) Be careful walking down the stairs. The handrail is just some rope which may not be enough for you to hold on to.
24) Cooking gas provided. Installing it will need you to read the instruction
25) Plate washing facility is available. For Tulan Dome, the washing facility is just next to the dome. However for Tadau Dome, you will have to go down about 1 meter to reach the washing facility. Not that difficult though
26) Some solar light is independent. No worry if you need to sleep with some nightlight on
27) There is a triangular window in our dome. We keep it open during the day to let fresh air in. Turns out insect comes in. So we close it. The air is fresh irregardless.
28) Tullinaw Glamping is located exactly at Pekan Nabalu (19km from Kundasang Town), Pekan Nabalu is more famous as a pit stop for buying souvenirs etc. It is also one of the best place to snap a picture of the majestic Kinabalu (on a clear day of course)
29) On a good day, you can have your photograph taken by professional photographer who will print your picture or save it on a pendrive at a fee.
