The project was to monitor soil temperature and soil moisture; collect and distribute rain water. We were given the SparkFun Inventor's Kit - V3. We had little under a week to build the project, we had to include 2 inputs and 2 outputs. Our two inputs consisted of a flex sensor and the soil temp/moisture sensor. The two outputs where the servo and display. The location of where this station had to be placed didn't have access to running water to just run a drip hose to the plants. The flex sensor provided us with the height of the water in the bucket. The sensor didnt work exactly how we wanted because it only had 3 positions 180deg, 90deg, and 45deg. But that at least told us if the bucket was empty, half full, or full. The servo that was provided in the kit didn't have enough power to turn a valve so we opted for a drain concept that of a toilet.
