Embracing Watercolour Accidents and Mistakes | Loose Atmospheric Landscape | A Tree in Sunset Light

Accidents in watercolour happen - and I believe they are our best teachers. I had a different idea for the composition in this scene but I had to pivot early in the painting process and I ended up loving the results. You can see how it all unfolded in this video.

This is the way I have always yearned to paint. This is why classic watercolor classes leave me cold. When you paint you are connecting with the paint and water and paper and open to a collaboration. And yet you bring so much insight and skill to the process that helps me learn how to bring my gifts to the creation.

This painting is just gorgeous 😍 i love the green that you added at the very beginning. I love the way the colors mingled together to create the background. And the tree just came out of nowhere, it was meant to be and became so beautiful the way the trunk and branches were painted. I love this painting.
