As I canal walker I'm bang on with you about cyclists not using their bells. Don't ride up behind me grunting, don't fly past me and scare the shit out of me. USE YOUR BELL !

I think you made good time really, you weren't in a hurry and kept stoping for filming and to admire the view.

The thing after Filterbeds is the weir which takes the excess flow of the river Lea away from Hackney Cut, you see it rejoin at Old Ford after is skirts the far side of Hackney Marshes but it also feeds the Bow Back Rivers.

Great walk and video. I've seen damaged and sunk boats on other channels as well. Doesn't the CRT have the authority to have the owners clean up their mess?

Just catchin g up on some of your previous videos.

Last time had some time in London I walked from Cheshunt to Pickett's Lock. Even though it was daytime there were a couple of places where I felt quite unsafe.

I suspect there's going to be a nasty accident at some stage with cyclists and boaters. Last year we pulled up at a lock-landing, and I jumped off the boat, right in front of a cyclist. I know I should have looked, but I'm not used to things travelling at more than 4 m.p.h. on the canals.

Nice walk. I'm far too old to walk that far any more. So you enjoy watching the water fowl. Does Monty watch with you?
