I loved this scene. Something so innocuous to us today was an actual marvel to their era. I wonder if we will ever be in such awe at our own ingenuity again.

This is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series, and the whole series has been magnificent so far. I have been eagerly awaiting season two and it is finally about to begin this fall.

Imagine seeing this when for all of recorded history and all of your lifetime no one was ever able to have a light in the dark that they didn't first have to have had fire for.

It's crazy to think that lights something we don't even give a second thought today was the biggest most amazing thing to happen in the time period.

I actually prefer this show to Downton Abbey. Downton Abbey has too much cruelty in it. Conniving evil servants plotting someone’s demise all the time just isn’t my cup of tea.

I just got to this scene, and it’s my favorite of the series so far, even though I hate fireworks in real life!

I never knew Thomas Edison was involved, although it does make sense now

I love the scene. But it’s missing the people who did the actual work. There was an African-American male who worked with Thomas Edison.
It’s amazing how the power brokers did not include him in the presentation.
The arrogance of taking credit for someone else’s work.

Wasn’t this the age of slavery though are they just adding rich Black people in this because it’s politically correct?
