Cheb Mami is solid vocalist, even Sting said that about him when they did ‘Desert Rose’ song back when, he is Algerian and a legend in the whole North African region and heavily Northern African inhabited European countries.

This was his comeback after years, we almost thoght that he retired from music, but definetely him and cheb khaled habe contribued to spread a fresher form of this rai and arabic featuring sometimes with artist from other countries

Cheb mami is a total legend. His voice takes me back to when I was a young teen in Tunisia, hanging out with my friends in Carthage ! He has been around for years (since probably the '70s if I'm not wrong). North African music is just so unique and amazing and you should listen to more songs (there are loads of Chebs out there to discover!). I am half English half Tunisian by the way. Try and start with Cheb Khaled and then listen to French songs featuring the likes of such Rai singers. Loved watching your reactions to this and can't wait for similar videos! Suerte! :)
