One can even visit kala pathar while going to gurudongmar lake, driver takes extra charge to go on the route if you are sharing the taxi... Usually the snow remains through out the year at kala pathar, and is a good point to enjoy in deep snow..

We 4 persons are planning 5 N 6 D plan to visit East and north Sikkim in mid march( plan to Gangtok, lachen, lachung,back to Gangtok nathula pass and then back to Njp ) can we travel all this places with my 3 year old son, and what will be the cost per person please suggest.

Be careful while buying tourist package from NJP railway stn area. I was charged 3 times amount by Rahul, MoonLight tourism and didn't get anything after reaching Gangtok. It's better to book any package in Sikkim only. People are Simple, hospitable friendly and honest in Sikkim.

Not a days the main route to lachung is closed . So it takes approx 8 to 9 hours to travel from gangtok to lachung.

Hi, we are total 5 people (4 Adults & 1 Kid, 3yrs). We are planning for Gangtok tour and North sikkim trip as well. How many days and nights we require to complete all visiting places in Gangtok and most visiting places in North Sikkim? And what might be the appx. budget for trip? And we are planning in this DECEMBER 2019 1st week. Will all places be open at that time? And is that fine to travel with 3yrs kid to all these places at that time??

Very good blog with full of information but lachen to lachung is only 45-50 km and it will take only 1:30 to 2 hrs as per weather and road conditions
