Nice to see David being un front man like and letting the other band members enjoy the spotlight . Respect

i saw them in LA last week at the stop making sense screening
the crowd went nuts, everybody was dancing and singing
the group was cordial in the post film interview. they reminisced about meeting each other in college and how playing at cbgb was the best time they ever had. though when the interview ended, david quickly exited the stage while the other 3 remained to wave at the audience. what a fun night

“Fear of Music” was a stroke of genius. It was the first record of “different music” I ever loved. I got the album only because a friend of mine bought it and hated it so much he was going to throw it away. I offered to take it and give it a listen……..and I was blown away!

Just saw the 40th anniversary release of Stop Making Sense in Brooklyn tonight. They did a q&a afterwards. It was an incredible night!

Saw ‘Stop Making Sense’ in a movie theater when it was first released – great fun! I regret never having seen the entire band live, but was fortunate to see David Byrne on his “pink tutu” tour. The Talking Heads are amongst the best bands out there and I’ve heard a few. Much love from a huge fan.

Pop music with originality, people playing real instruments live without tracks, a non-conformist attitude, taking musical risks. Awesome. Bring it back.

The reason the "Punk" scene was so interesting in the beginning is because the bands did NOT all sound the same. when they say they were not a punk band i mean they were a band BEFORE there was a "Punk Scene" which is far more punk in my opinion. once a scene starts wagon jumpers and gatekeepers come along and by default rules are set, what the sound is what the look is what the attitude is etc... which in this case sort of defeats the whole purpose of whatever that movement was.
pretty much all similar scenes go through the same thing, a SMALL amount of genuinely interesting and creative people come together and a scene begins. before long the scene starts getting some sort of exposure and more people start coming along, and then the people that are not actually very interesting or creative start coming along and taking the scene over. then the interesting creative people that started it begin to move on to the next thing because they are creative and get bored of doing the same old thing. now the people that jump on the band wagon starts calling the people that created the scene posers because they are into something else now. the hypocrisy and ignorance of it all.

Ran the Colorado River in 1986, a 21 day trip. Stop Making Sense was our music played on a Sony Diskman. Those were the days.

Just watched Stop Making Sense again on Max, and it's even better than I remembered, and I was obsessed with it the first time around. It's pure art❤️👏❤️

Talk about a phenomenal band from the 80s. I got the ultimate pleasure in meeting them a few years ago. It was super awesome
