Scotland should try getting out of group for the first time ever to the knockout stages. Happens to many countries in previous competitions and Germany are usually the past masters of finding an easy path to the final. Showing my age, but did West Germany throw their last group game in 1974 world cup against East Germany to avoid Holland in the next group stage? 1986 world cup they beat, Morocco, Mexico, France to get to the final. At the 2002 world cup they beat Mexico, USA, South Korea on the way to the final. You beat what is front of you.
