Newsom threatens legal action over Norwalk's new homeless shelter moratorium

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has threatened legal action against the city of Norwalk, saying that the city's new ordinance, putting a moratorium on the construction of new buildings like homeless shelters, violates several laws.

So, I'm all for building homeless shelters, BUT it can't stop there. Those homeless MUST have their freedoms taken away. They cannot be allowed to take drugs and sit around doing nothing. They can work doing a variety of civic jobs like cleaning up litter, maintenance of municipal land near highways and buildings, plus lots more that municipal workers won't do.

Nobody wants drug addicts and weirdos around their kids they should build those facilities out in the county and have all their services there mental health welfare rehab ect addiction is out of control it needs to be addressed stop wasting money and build real places to be gaint rehabs instead handing all this money out and nothing getting done

Any stats on how many shelters/occupancy max. within the city of Norwalk? How many people is Norwalk already housing? Those details would have been useful. Now, how about the same stats for Brentwood, Calabasas, Beverly Hills, Pacific Palasades, etc? Better yet, how about a map of the state showing the concentration of shelters and occupancy levels for each city.
