We’ve just fitted our click vinyl flooring and we’re having a nightmare at the start. All the tongue joints were snapping off. Thanks to your tip for saving the day! ❤️

I also check all the edges to make sure there aren't any stray wood pieces clogging the grooves. I use an old toothbrush to clean all 4 edges so there isn't any wood debris preventing the edges from locking together. Whenever I need to hammer in boards that won't lock tight I use a scrap piece of laminate (about 6' long and I shave back the decorative top so it won't bang against the decorative top I'm hammering in place.) and lock it in place while I whack on it with a hammer to get the nice tight seam I want. I helps prevent chipping of the decorative edge.

I have been working with Easystreet comfort spc rigid 12x24" dropclick vinyl tiles with stone polymer composite core.
The long sides are 100 % but only about half of the ends will lock down using your tapping method. The entire length of the ends are not flush with next tile...raised by a little less than 1/16. Thank you.

Hi, I wonder if you've ever worked with Coretec vinyl flooring and can help me with the problem I'm having? The product is drop-and-lock (you click together the long sides first), but then also requires a final tapping from the end to get the end joints to click together. About half of the time, the end joints have a ~1mm gap between them and no amount of tapping will make the gap close. I've tried using a bridge plank and your method from this video. Anything else I could try? The product is specifically Coretec pro galaxy. Thanks.

My diy install lvp is running into this issue. Ebery couple months i have to re tap down with the flooring mallet. In certain areas. From what im gathering this is likely the fix i need because its not fully lockinf, right?

Not so fast. In many cases, this will not get the ends to lock in. Is there anything a person can do in those difficult cases ?

What about using a tapping block instead?

I wish there was an easy way to fix long edges. When installing my LVP the first few planks were extremely hard to get the edges tight. Now in a couple spots there is about a 1mm gap along the long edge. Tried double stick tape and hammering them down, but they dont really close. Only way I know how to fix them would be to uninstall all the tiles(which would be most of the room, hours of work) and reinstall them.
