I jumped out of an aircraft at age 64 with my then 29 year old daughter. We did the ground school together. We had to wait for the weather to settle and clear before the jumpmaster and pilot thought the conditions were ok. It was a warm summer Saturday morn. It had rained the night before and there were visibility issues . While waiting we giggled with anticipation . When we exited the plane there was no hesitation. We did what we came to do and it was great. At 10000’ it was quite cold and during free fall we accelerated to 130 mph before chute deployment. We were each harnessed to an instructor so chances of error were minimal. I recommend it. I feel sorry for those who hesitate. Step out of the numbness of certainty and familiarity. This motivation gave me hope to pass the asvab test. My practice test is coming this Wednesday. I’ve wasted 3 years for nothing. I’ve cried last night cuz I will never be successful. I wanted to be a soldier, keeping my promise my childhood. I’ve fail 2 time taking the real test since 2017. I gave up so easily and and never studied. Until I noticed I’ve scored 22 last Wednesday and it gives me hope. I wanted to score higher, wanted to join military. I have a heart for USARMY, I wanted to pass the asvab.
I could’ve listen to the teacher in high school. I regretted everything. I never pay attention, so this year 2020 please give me a chance to score higher. I wanted this. I wanted the door to be open, I needed this. I’m 20 years old and soon to be 21 in 2 more weeks.

8, 6, 5, 4 2, and 1 spoke to me the most. We all need it. Not just from those who are living and doing what they love to bring hope to those who aren't there or facing struggles, but also from those who are presently there, in the heat of the moment, fighting the good fight, to be able to one day say, I didn't give up and here I am. We need those in the journey and those at the destination. Both can be just as powerful and necessary.
