I never would have thought about using calamine powder in soap! If the powder does what the lotion does, I wonder what citronella would do as a bug repellent. Wow!

Hi Keeley, funny I watch Ellen Ruth as well ( love how upbeat she is!) and have been wanting to make this as well. Then I saw this and now I HAVE to make it! It looks so luxurious and wonderful for the skin. You brought back memories...I remember being cover in this when I had chicken pox and my Mom would have that bottle out when we had mosquito bites too. I'm always interested to see how powders and clays will color soap -- usually not enough to be impressive, unfortunately. I had high hopes for French green clay, in particular, but while it makes nice soap, the color is nothing special. This time, though, the color is amazing! And since I'm from Florida (bug central and a sauna for most of the year) the combination of calamine and goat's milk sounds like just what the doctor ordered. I use calamine lotion for heat rash after being outside for a prolonged period.
On a completely different note, I'm curious about the copper thing and the jar of little wooden things that are on top of the shelf. I actually stopped the video so I could try to identify them, but I haven't a clue. Are they just decorative?

Here in the USA we use calamine lotion on poison ivy and we bathed in collodial oatmeal, I wonder how it would be to put the oatmeal in the soap if it would work on poison ivy. I had never heard of Calamine powder I'm going to check into it
