This isn't coal. It's charcoal. The title is misleading. If I wanted charcoal, that's what I'd have searched for.

If you're looking for fuel, check out the lava drip farm or a kelp farm. Kelp blocks are great fuel.

Hey people don’t waste your time, this won’t work everything stays stuck in bottom hopper. Several commenters have the same issue.

looks great just wish it worked. Tried it and once it fills the hoppers it grinds to a halt. All the charcoal gets stuck in the bottom 2 hoppers clogging everywhere else

Im new.. can someone answer me... why not just burn the wood logs in a furnace with lava? will get the same product ... so why build this farming place? i dont get it

My chest isnt getting filled up, the coal stays in the lower dispenser

This works in 1.21.4 but its not a coal farm, its just a cheaper but slower alternative to furnace lines. Its fine if you want to slowly make tons of charcoal with the extra wood you got but thats it

This is more of an semi-automatic farm, and considering the comments below, it is also a flawed one.
A shame, I thought this could be worth the trouble, but if all you do is smelt logs that you collect from before, then it would be better to just build a supersmelter and dump the logs in there instead.

Why the 1.21? The newest Block is the target block and that's from the 1.16 update.
Or is there something I'm missing?
