A sports committee consisting of four rowers, three basketballers and two cricketers sits at a circular table.

a) How many different arrangements of the committee are possible if the rowers and basketballers both sit together in groups, but no rower sits next to a basketballer
b) One rower and one cricketer are related. If the conditions in (a) apply, what is the probability that these two members of the committee will sit next to one another?

I did this easily before proceeding to the solution. I have a more challenging but similar question. Say there are 5 rollers for the first question, then how do you do the options of 1 group of 3 basketball players and 8 chairs available? Also, what book were you using? Book’s name please, and thanks. Your videos are amazing.

For the probability that cricketer and his relative ( rower)
Is not easier to fix the cricketer in one position and the probability that the rower is seated next to him is 1/4.
