Good video and solid plan

I think when people say it takes years to become proficient at chanting, they are including in proficiency things like: Typikon, managing the chant stand, communicating with the priest, and most importantly figuring out how to begin to attend to your spiritual life when your role at church has changed. I don't know how one can learn all this without having chanted through the whole cycle of services a few times.

Another interesting thing to think about: practicing an hour a day is awesome, but you must be careful that your students are practicing correctly. Otherwise they are hammering incorrect habits into their head.

In the absence of being beside a master chanter for the duration of one's training, it's very important to listen to good recordings.

Thanks for the vid

Hey Michael.
Your channel has been key for me.
Can you do a video breaking down how the liturgy works and the tones progress.

More specifically Im trying to figure out which version of the liturgical chants do not change week by week, I think learning those would be a good start.
So far I’ve learned how to chant “Only Begotten Son” which I think is the second antiphon.
I know that the third antiphon is an apolitikion so it changes weekly.

Will pray for you for the MCAT! Also, can you do Paralegi and Melos for "In Thee who art Full of Grace" in Plagal 4th mode by Anthimos?
