Gaza's displaced attempt to return north under Israeli fire

Palestinians displaced from northern Gaza have attempted to return to their homes today before they were blocked and fired upon by Israeli troops, MEMO correspondent Mohammed Asad reports. A number of people were injured forcing residents to head back south.

This came amid reports that women and children under the age of 14 were allowed to return to northern Gaza, which the Israeli army’s Arabic language spokesperson Avichay Adraee denied as ‘lies’ which ‘absolutely lack any basis.’

‘The IDF will not allow the return of residents either through the Salah A-Din axis or through the [coastal] Rashid axis,’ he added.
