My old school had a rule like this, and I went to the nurse and told her, and she sent me back to class claiming I was "just stressed", 5 minutes after I returned to class I went to take a sip of water and promptly threw up into the sink twice, the recycling bin once, and the garbage can 3 times. A teachers aide escorted me to the nurse with a garbage can, and when the nurse saw me and her, she asked what happened. The aide went to respond and I promptly threw up again right there in front of her. I would have thrown up more, but my stomach was entirely empty. Unsurprisingly, I was sent home. I was so ill that I missed a week of school (this was all like years before COVID hit)

My tiny elementary school had a similar rule. One day I came back from recess with two long open wounds down my back. They didn’t let me go home or even go to the nurses office to clean it. My second grade teacher had to sit me down and clean the wound himself. By the time I got home I had bled all over my outfit. It was really disgusting how they treated kids there, it was abusive actually. The only truly good teacher was my second grade teacher, Lord bless him.

Fun fact: Schools have pretty much been the same for the last 200 years

“Mrs my limbs got chomped off”

“Well you don’t have a fever and you didn’t puke so I’ll have to send you back 😊”

My school has a similar rule to this, except if you thro up once or twice, you can’t go home. You had to throw up 3 times to go home. Honestly one of the stupidest rules in my school.

This literally happened to me once before. I was feeling extremely sick over the weekend and my parents said I didn't have to go to school. I wanted to keep my perfect attendance streak up, so I pushed through it. Around 2 hours left of the day, I had a major stomach ache. I went to the nurse's office and they told me that it was "just allergies". I even told her that my mom demanded I call her if I felt sick. This was close to after the lockdown ended. I ended up getting tested a day later for covid by my mom and it was positive. The next day, there was a sub for the nurse. Coincidence? I think not.

I had a stomachache in middle school and told my teacher I felt like I was about to puke. She told me I was faking it and pulled my desk right up to the front of her desk. A couple minutes later I threw up across her desk and right on her; and I filled her full. Two years later my younger brother had that same teacher and the same exact thing happened to him. He covered her from head to toe. She said, " I hate you West boys". I hope she learned her lesson.

I had a similar rule that was at my old middle school. I was extremely nauseous cause of the upcoming math test and I was gagging in class, a teacher brought me to the councillor's office cause they thought I was faking it and I projectile vomited all over the councilor's trash can. They didn't bring me home cause "I didn't have a fever" 💀

My elementary school had a rule like this, and one time I sprained ankle really bad during recess. I asked to go home, because it hurt so bad. She just put some ice on it and told me I’d be fine. I was heading back to class, and when I was walking down the hallway, I full on collapsed because my ankle couldn’t hold my weight. A teacher heard me, panicked, and immediately helped me limp back to the nurse. She finally called my parents, and I went to the ER. I was on crutches for a week 💀

My district had a rule where you needed a doctors note to bring water to school. My mom took my older brother to the doctors office so he could bring water to class and his doctor wrote a note for the entire district. Everyone was happy.

My school basically has the same rules
If you didn’t throw up your fine
If you didn’t have a fever your fine
The nurse would claim it’s just “stress”
The nurse would give you an ice pack and then your done

The school I'm currently in still has this rule. 3 years ago, when I first joined secondary school, I suddenly had extremely bad stomach pain in maths class. I kept complaining to the teacher because it was so bad I was clutching my stomach trying to ease the pain. I was not on my period btw. Finally after me asking a bunch of times, the maths teacher gives me a note to go see the school nurse. So I tell her that I have this unbearable sharp pain in my stomach and she tells me that she cannot give me any medicine to subside the pain because "my parents didn't give me permission" to take any. My dad signed a medical slip before this which allowed them to do whatever was necessary... so I don't know what that bs was about
Anyway, the nurse lets me stay until the pain subsides and leaves the room. I end up passing out clutching my stomach and I wake up realising that instead of feeling sharp pain, I instead had a sore stomach (which probably meant my stomach lining was worn down...). I checked the time in my phone and I was knocked out for like 2-3 hours without anyone checking on me 💀
I'm so glad nothing happened afterwards that was serious but jeez if I had appendicitis I would've been dead by the time the nurse came to check on me

There was this one day i was pretty sick in my AP world history class I told the nurse i wasn't feeling well, i got sent back to class where i had to give a presentation speech thing. I passed out about halfway through, and i woke up in the hospital with a pain in my stomach, massive headache, and pain in my forehead. From my friends account he told me i was stumbling and when i passed out my forehead was bleeding and my mouth was oozing puke.

TLDR: I was sick and had to give a speech to my class, passed out, woke up in the hospital with a big headache
