This would’ve sold well 3 years ago. Needs to be $20k less, or 400 miles of range with bi-directional charging to be competitive today 🤷🏻‍♂️

Would really want this to have 300+ miles of range so it can be used for trips.

Look at that ridiculous price. $60k start

DOA with those prices, just like the ID.4, product managers at VW need to be fired.

A pretentious boutique vehicle. $60K+ is laughable.

We waited since and before the buzz concept in 2017 and VW SQUANDERED IT.

As a VW owner, I have no faith in VW's ability to write good software or keep it updated.

230 miles is pitiful considering it has a massive wheelbase for the battery!

That price. Feel free to price yourself out of the market VW. So disappointing they didn't want to introduce a product that everyone could realistically think about owning. $60K for only 235 miles is beyond a no thank you. And that interior color is hideous. The same people that wanted the ugly Tesla truck just because they wanted to be first will be the people that buy this. Magic 8 ball says this model will no longer be available in 5 years, unless they make it a hybrid and lower the price 20K.

When are OEMs going to get the memo that we've all received for the past 5 years - BUTTONS ARE FINE. The veritable "center stack" is a mess in this thing.

The front styling could use some work. Looks a bit frumpy. Would be nice to have circular headlights and a revised front shape.

Taking the effort on the fun patterns on the seat plastic but not organizing your dashboard is modern car making in a nutshell. Love electric minivan. Clean it up a bit and lower the price a little and this could be a hit.

range way too low, kills it as an option

Really wish this was better as the styling is great.

The EV9 destroys this in range and price, and is competitive or better in most other areas.

This thing is AMAZING.... at 1/2 the price. $60k for a 230 mile EV?! The boomers who would've been willing to pay that for nostalgia are dying out.

When are these Manufacturers going to give us our monies worth. I am tired of being ripped off from all of them.

60K and up and 230 miles of range? It's doomed unless they up the range and reduce the price. Retro works in the beginning, but once the novelty wears off, it has to get by on attributes other than cuteness.

I am REALLY hoping this is a good vehicle. I look forward to future updates...

I need a minivan - hate large SUVs so I am keeping on going with my old van but hoping a good EV van makes it to market....this might be the first swing at my desired product

That concept looked amazing. It's too bad that didn't make it to the final product.

Excellent review. Every word you said was spot on. Thank you for being so tactfully honest. For automotive reviewers thats rare and refreshing. Developing such vehicles likely comes with many challenges. That being said a double A pillar was not ideal. In VW defense, they FINALLY created an EV that isn't oval shaped. The ID Buzz, while long overdue, has a level belt line and relatively level roofline. For an EV that's an accomplishment. The headroom is wonderful. Real door handles! The door is thankfully fairly squared off, no contorsonist tactics to get in, save for the large step in. Is there a grab handle on the double A pillar? That would help along avoid grabbing the steering wheel. A bit more ground clearance wouldn't hurt. Perhaps a spacer is in order. Any offroad ambitions aside, it is spacious. You guys are so lucky to have such a nice large facility and track. Excellent video editing as well. Bravo!
