Has anyone else noticed the elderly mother in 'The Catch' is Brenda Fricker, best known from the hospital series 'Causality' and the 'bird lady' in 'Home Alone 2-Lost In New York'.

Whaat? Ed is a fisherman now? Strange twist. In the books he's a white-collar executive.
The book was fun, but it looks like they took some real liberties with the adaptation
Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

I love him, so was eager to watch, got through first one, but I am sad to say, I find it absolute rubbish... Sorry

I gave it a go but the acting was well below mediocre and the accents are cringe worthy, having lived in the West Country all my life I can't say I have met anyone who sounds like the characters portrayed in dramas set there, please use local actors or at least try harder, I like Jason Watkins but this isn't one of his best 🤦🏻‍♂️
