What if the English never settled in America?

If the English never settled in America, Holland would be a colonial power and the Russians would control the Pacific North-west. France would be a superpower and Germany would have good colonies.

Louisiana was already french when the deportation happened and without it and british colonization, Acadia would have been a sucessfull colony.

What if our world is an alternate universe of “What if England has established settlements in North America?”

You overlooked Newfoundland which is an interesting case. Back then it had huge reserves of cod and is the closest point in NA to Europe and would have been an desirable colony. Early on there were in fact Portuguese and Basques who started small colonies only to eventually be taken over by the English.

Could you please make a video or your idea about what if Spanish court had transfered to New Spain while the napoleon invasion as Portugal did to Brazil? I think all the independence wars in Américas would be delayed and maybe they can gather an army from New Spain to attack and recover the control of Spain instead cooperate with him
thanks for your attention :)

You have answered a question that has always been in my mind: how would North America's geopolitical map have been if the US never existed? Thank you very much for this video.

1:37 "As South Africa has proven, the Dutch didn't have enough excess population..." Next sentence, "The Dutch were very tolerant..." lol. Of course, the Dutch in the Netherlands were and remain very tolerant, but the contrast with South Africa makes me wonder about differences between Dutch in the Netherlands and Dutch emigrants.

I think this video really underestimates the Dutch colonists. Portugal also barely sent any colonists to brazil during the colonial period but just a couple of Brazilians in São Paulo called the bandeirantes managed to move Inland and take vast swathes of land. Also the population would likely explode in the 19th century with immigrants from Europe and they would probably move westward either way.

There would've been 4 European powers in NA in the 17th century, New Sweden was only destroyed with a combined English and Dutch force.

I lover your videos, but you do so many "what if.... America!" videos and I wish you would use more variety. Keep up the good work!

Wouldn't the French Revolution not occur as early due to there being no American War Of Independence, so there would be no Napoleon Bonaparte as the leader of France. This would mean Germany would unify in a different manner with Prussia not having as much power, also Britain would never get Egypt or Sudan. This may change the craving up of Africa. Also without hated of Germany there would be no WW1. Would this be the case?

3:30: "The Quebecois could have immigrated to Ontario or Manitoba but never did."

...Are you sure about that? Because while I don't know how it compares to the overall Quebecois population, it is nonetheless the case that hundreds - if not thousands - of Quebecois migrated westwards with the fur trade, especially after the fall of new France. When Manitoba joined confederation in 1870, it was a majority francophone province, and while the inhabitants considered themselves Metis rather than Quebecois (for a host of reasons beyond the scope of this post), it is undeniable that a majority (58% < X < 70%, by my estimation) of the province's population had Quebecois ancestry in 1870. So that's that's a thing.
