The Cars Greatest Hits

The Cars were an American new wave band formed in Boston in 1976. Emerging from the new wave scene in the late 1970s, they consisted of Ric Ocasek (rhythm guitar), Benjamin Orr (bass guitar), Elliot Easton (lead guitar), Greg Hawkes (keyboards), and David Robinson (drums). Ocasek and Orr shared lead vocals, and Ocasek was the band's principal songwriter and leader.

Benjamin really expressed his voice in the lyrics. A true artist of his time. Perfectly tailoring his vocals to the mood of the song.

I'm 56 and the Cars really remind me of my teenage hood, the 80's . I remember walking up the road with my Walkman on, back in the days when you had to record off the radio....lol. I had these guys on my walkman, I specifically love Magic and You Might Think.

Voted best new artist in 1978. Debut album sold 6 million copies and stayed on the Billboard 200 for 139 weeks!
I was 14 when that album was released. Oh the memories! ❤

Saw them in ‘79, KC MO @ Arrowhead Stadium. Heart, Ted Nugent, Bob Welch, Sammy Hagar & local band Missouri opened. What an all day live music experience, the Cars New Wave rocked OUT. A great memory.
