I think why Mandy cares for Billy us because he's the only person that genuinely likes her as a person, not feared or respect or even bizarre love like Irwin.

I've said this for years. I think also that Mandy is genuinely afraid of Billy when he's in rage mode too because...who wouldn't be? He's a force to be reckoned with and I think Mandy respects that.

I love how normal Mandy was in the early seasons. Like, she's still edgy, cynical, cut throat and no nonsense, but she doesn't feel like a demon in a child's body.

It's funny how likable Billy and Mandy are despite how lovable Grim is and how pitiful he can be at times when he gets bullied by the kids. It actually takes a lot of writing skills to make such a dynamic work with all 3 characters being likable in the end

Billy is literally the Yin to her Yang. The balancing act that keeps her centered. The Ray of sunshine in her dark world. In other words a friend. Watching this show back when I was a kid, I wouldn't have even noticed nor valued that type of relationship. But after growing up it really hits different.
