Today, I'll be seeing and hearing the same thing.- once the rain stops. The Omaka Classic Fighters 2017 air show opens today, but we are getting the tail end of a cyclone right now. The forecast for today is rain stopping and sunny/cloudy for the next three days. We are going to hear Merlins - both Rolls Royce and Packard, a Griffon, Allisons, Pratt and Whitneys and a host of World War 1 engines, both rotary and in-line. I was at the previous Classic Fighters in 2015 - my first air show since I was a teenager - and spent the three days walking on air.

Just looking at the positions of the radiator intakes under the wings and fuselage yo get to realise that the Spitfire was in constant development
