Pasteurized versus Unpasteurized Orange Juice

Want to know the difference between naturally squeezed orange juice and the processed kind? Find out as I do a blind taste test!

The pasteurization of juices is known to kill the good for us enzymes and bacteria (probiotics) that live and grow in unprocessed fruits and vegetables.

Certainly the unprocessed juice is better for us (if only slightly) but what is the difference in taste? Thats what I discover in this video!

Yea, unpasteurized is 100% flavorful and natural. Yet, I unpasteurized one I brought had a warning label against germs that can get children sick. They might as go ahead and label all the oranges as well too. 🤔😅

Louis Pasteur is the inventor of pasteurization, so the word makes perfect sense.

This is a good point. This may be on my list to investigate as well. There's nothing left just like the milk which is why they add in extra stuff at the end to compensate. Thanks for the info!

They add flavor packs to the pasteurized one. Maybe that's what the after taste is. Who knows what's in these flavor packs.

We all know fresh juice is the best but when you run a juice company and you plan for your juice to stay long on the shelf for like a year and there is no natural way to keep it that long then you turn to pasteurization.

Pasteurized lasts 2 weeks. Unpasteurized tastes better only for 3 days. Then it ripes and tastes like riped fruit

"Pasteurised" is the word given by the scientist who discovered the pasteurisation method, Louis Pasteur. Even the spelling is different from Pasture, grazing land. You think you were describing a 'pasture', but you really were describing a 'meadow'.

I've been chugging down Florida's "Natural" orange juice like water for the past 5 years and praising it to everyone. I used to tell people how I never get sick as long as I was drinking that great natural juice until I learned a week ago what the word pasteurized meant. I'm pissed off!! I spent over $3500 on that shit. yeah it's probably a better choice than soda and fuzzy drinks but I thought i was giving my body a good thing. why can't they just squeeze that shit, pack it and give it a short shelf life?
you can start small and as demand gets higher, you can start making more juice. that would mean more frequent deliveries, more workers and labor and it might not pay off at the end. never mind lol

U r absolutely right with how u described the taste. the pasturiz juice sits in huge tanks for a while and the pasturiz process both causes the juice to literally lose its flavor. so they add these things called flavor packs to the juice to give it's flavor back. so as u described it not tasting right and leaves lingering weird taste. that must be the flavor packs ur tasting.
