00:04 Introduction
00:30 What key factors should investors prioritise when selecting mutual funds in 2025?
02:40 How should investors balance risk and rewards when choosing between equity, debt, and hybrid funds in 2025?
05:32 What advice should investors consider regarding thematic and sectoral funds in 2025, given their popularity in 2024?
07:40 How important is a fund manager's role or track record when selecting a fund, and what other metrics should investors consider?
09:50 Are there any other metrics that one should evaluate before making a decision?
12:10 What is the optimal strategy for experienced mutual fund investors to build a resilient long-term portfolio in 2025?
13:05 Viewer's question: Do you recommend investing in ULIP? Previously, it was not recommended to mix insurance and investment. With new-age ULIPs, the fund charges have gone down. One of the main advantages of ULIPs over equity mutual funds is no LTCG/STCG charges when moving investment from one scheme to another, like moving from one equity index to, say, a debt fund.
15:37 Closing
15:47 Key Takeaways:
- Keep investing simple and steady: Focus on long-term growth with consistent, regular investments.
- Diversification is key: Avoid sectoral and thematic funds for long-term investments as they compromise diversification.
- Balance equity and debt for stability: Retirees should consider a mix of aggressive hybrid funds to manage risk and optimise returns.
- Fund manager experience matters: Look for fund managers who have navigated both rising and falling markets rather than focusing on past returns.
- Avoid market hype: Stick to your investment strategy and ignore short-term predictions to achieve long-term success.

13:07 Viewers Question: The text shown in the video is not matching with the voice/question read by Ms.Ruchira. Not sure how this was missed by the editor.

I guess this video was edited on the evening of Dec 31st and the editor wanted to quickly wrap up the work and go for a party ;)

Dear Madam, I am a regular listener of Sir. Presently I have 12 yrs left for my retirement from Govt pensionable job. Now, I have kept lumpsump in Bank FD and the monthly interest is invested in Flexicap, Small cap, Mid cap, Momentum mutual fund (total 06 funds). My equity investment is 33% of lumpsump in FD. Do I need to increase equity exposure?

Are ELSS funds meant exclusively for tax savers ? What if non - tax savers invest beyond 80 C limit if the funds give far better returns than Bank FD returns ? Can disregard the lock in period of 3: years as my tenure is beyond 7 years .

Little bit confused, if retirees invest aggressive hybrid fund. Due to 75% exposure in equity, this will not affect is investment Sir ? Why not conservative hybrid fund for steady income and park Little amount in aggressive fund for growth.

New Year wishes to entire team.

For new investors: Buy stocks in solid companies and hold them as long as they stay strong. Ignore forecasts and market opinions—they’re distracting at best and useless in the long run

Many times I get confused. What Mr. Dhirendra says is quite opposite to the suggestion given in value research premium subscription.

I am not clear which I have to believe or trust
