After discovering that the GT 710 is the second best selling graphics card on Amazon, I decided to see how far I can push the GT 710. Can it catch Intel's integrated graphics with a massive overclock?

Intel vs Nvidia? Now that's something I never would have thought I'd hear!

This card's use case isn't gaming - it's a triple-monitor video adapter. I've deployed them on dozens of office PCs with three monitors and they're a fantastic value for that purpose.

Don't tell me that you haven't thought about watercooling it..

I died when you said "I'll attach a fan or something similar to it"

GDDR5 models will usually have much greater memory overclocking and overall performance compared to the DDR3 models. Try getting one of those and compare the performance because I think people may have seen great performance from friends and reviews on the GDDR5 model and accidentally bought the DDR3 one

with a little active cooling, you may be able to take the top spot on every single hwbot ranking for the gt 710. I don't think even the most famed overclockers like der8auer can say that they hold the #1 spot for every single benchmark for a given video card

"So I got this crap, let me try to improve it!"

*Messes with it.*

"Now it's still crap, but it's a *slightly better* crap."

Never give up, never surrender.

love how this guy calmly states his lights caught on fire and gets right back to the video

Now it could be interesting how much you can overclock other, stronger cards like a GT 730 or 1030. :D

Please, overvolt the GPU to get more performance, I think that you will need to modify the bios because Nvidia doesn't unlock the voltage on their cards. But that will be funny. I think that you could get with +0.25v, +550mhz in the core.

Crazy that even a huge overclock still barely improves stuff. One of my first overclocking exploits was on an old GF 2 MX200. It got over a 100% overclock without modding or extra cooling. Of course 2x garbage is still garbage...

sounds like that old idiom: why buy the GT 710 when you can get the Intel 630 for free?

I think the GDDR5 variant matters. I use the MSI 2GB GDDR5 and get better performance. It also has active cooling. Good video though, I didn't realize we could OC so far. Will have to try.

Press F to pay respects for video light. (Or, as you know, eject yourself from a plane in GTA V.) 😂

can’t believe this is before the GPU shortage

The firmware (BIOS from the card) is what really holds it back, going to 1080p or higher will set the card to another state I call "HD" mode where it reduces it's output frames to 30FPS, even if it's producing more than 30 FPS.
Try a lower res screen and you'll see what I mean, I found this out on my double screen rig.

Have you seen the movie Scary Movie? You know at one point where stoned they make prank calls? That's what I think the person who said the GT 710 is an overclocking beast which really shines at that point, was making as they were typing that.
I found it funny and thought to share my thought.
I mean yes percentage wise is an improvement, but...lol.
Just 4 years after the release of this video too.
