I never understood why the Duke was able to accelerate so quickly off the line, yet barely able to get off the ground. I've seen them on 5000 foot runways using every inch.

Rock solid engines, but I never reduced take off power until I had altitude to circle back if one quit. With 1200 hrs. TTE best rate of climb near sea level was 150 ft./min. Some tricky systems such as the A/C which Jet Aviation at KPBI had a time figuring out. Annuals ran $3500 to $25, 000.

A beautiful aircraft but if I were in the market for a pressurized twin I’d have to go for a Cessna 421C.
