The range is not bad at all. At work I can get fifteen to twenty metres range before it starts to run into problems - quite admirable from such a small device!

I would be contacting your carrier to troubleshoot the device. Either there are problems with dataflow on your computer (try reinstalling the Wi-Fi adapter on your device assuming it is a Windows computer) or otherwise you might need to reset the hotspot.

This particular modem was available for $15 a month on top of a data plan. I went with the 10GB data plan @ $34.95 a month which makes the total $49.95 a month. There's also a 15GB and 20GB plan available as well but 10GB is plenty for me a month.

i just bought this E589 a few weeks ago... All i can see is this device is less stable. The connection is good but after 6 hrs it start showing the slow packet data flow. The browsing activity will become less responsive especially uploading. I compare to 2 other modem i have. The other modem i have is K5005 and ZTE MF60 which is much responsive. It shows gaming stability is not worth the E589 price as well.

I found the problem. It's on the mobile connection. U need to choose either manual or automatic...and down under there is a seconds( a time needed to idle the connection in the internet) the default is 600 sec. I put the maximum to 7200 seconds but after that time it will stop again the connection. So u need to off the wifi and switch on again for use the internet. My unit is unlocked and there is no software to install even u connect it to ur PC via USB.

As I got this device on contract it is an extra $15 per month over twelve months (which ends up being AU$180 on top of my $35 a month mobile broadband plan).

Any help. I have difficulty in connecting via wifi with this device. First it connect, then later u cannot browse. It looks like connected with signal and everything but if u start browsing there is no connection. U need to do is to reboot the device. I think it is not normal rebooting every time u need to browse.

The most frustrating part about this modem is, i cant connect it directly via usb. Which means no internet is available for ur pc via usb only. it will need u to own wireless adapter before u can enjoy the internet. The much cheaper mifi modem (ZTE MF60) is available with USB direct connection. If u have solution for my problem pls help. :'(
