8:30 We're killing innocent civilians
"it's defending our own country, THEY attacked us!"
Michelle: Their GOVERNMENT attacked us
(Loved that response)

What a great episode. This sheds light on something that most people don't ever get to wonder, the weigh of your decision.

Obama wrote this : "So, I ran a tight process. I trusted my team. I listened to every voice in the room. I gave myself space to think. And then I made a decision that reflected my own personal sense of what was right. While I couldn’t guarantee the outcome, I was confident in making the decision."

I grew up at a Manhattan Project nuclear site. It created plutonium for the Trinity test and the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. Watching this took me straight back to my childhood. We knew we were a target, we wore dog tags as kids, no duck and cover drills at our schools. We knew we were going to die. Every large building in our town was a fallout shelter. As kids, 5-6 years old, we knew where they all were and how many minutes it would take to get there. Ty for doing this video. I think the younger generation doesn’t see the impossible choices and consequences faced by a president. Being a 3rd generation nuclear worker made me proud bc I felt like I was helping to fight communism and keeping Americans safe. I feel like I did the right thing at the time. Ty Michelle!❤❤❤

Problem with this simulation is that in the real word, the President will already know what the capability of his or her military and already know the enemy military strength so when they get into this situation when he/she needs to make a decision, they can do it asking minimal question so they don't waste valuable time to response to the event.

“Average American citizen” I hardly believe Michelle is average, the amount of challenges shes accepted, more experienced than I will ever be!😅😂😂❤

I don't think the president can even handle the most stressful day at the president's job. Let's not pretend a background in politics gives you and edge here.

Dear Michelle, with all due respect,

A large-scale nuclear attack on an opposing country's military could be seen as strategically beneficial for those seeking to swiftly cripple the enemy's defense capabilities, potentially leading to a faster end to conflict. By targeting military assets, the aggressor might aim to prevent prolonged warfare, which could otherwise result in even greater loss of life over time. Despite the tragic loss of lives, such an attack could be argued as a means to achieve a decisive victory, thereby minimizing future casualties and establishing long-term security.

Even though it seems inhumane, the OTHER country has done so already, meaning THERE IS NO RIGHT OPTION ANYMORE.

All in all- by wasting time, you just constrained yourself to the remaining time you had, as you had mentioned before it felt like you were backing yourself into a corner.😮‍💨

Your choice was a phenomenal decision, in my eyes, THE BEST DECISION.

Keep posting content, its amazing, to come back and see your videos.

P.S. Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov is a true hero ❤
Most of us would not be born if he said Y . E . S.

I feel like the video lacks an end. Like a debrief or an explanation on how the president trains for this type of situation

I've noticed some copycats doing the same type of content as Michelle. Joe Blow tries Marine boot camp or whatever. Nobody does it like Michelle though. What a badass

As a military officer I can say that these simulations are way more stressful than they seem. When you're in the role, you actually have limited time to make decisions while pondering every potential consequence. It's difficult, but you do learn a lot. Great video.

Growing up in the Cold War, having read A LOT of Tom Clancy, and having watched Wargames multiple times, this is something right up my alley. And yeah, tensions were high in 1962 (Cuba), but the introduction of BMEWS in 1961, created a close call and I believe the Russians had a close call as well.
