What is Vishing?

We’ve talked in previous videos about how cyber criminals can use email to trick you and your employees and gain access to your IT systems.

The term we use for these attacks are ‘Phishing attacks’ but they are not the only method that criminals use.

Closely related to Phishing is something called Vishing. This works in a similar way but instead of using email to try and trick people this uses voice calls.

Vishing is less common than Phishing but, if anything, is more dangerous. These attacks are generally more targeted and criminals may have undertaken some social engineering to obtain details that can be used in the calls.
