With the FDA starting to ban the sale of some Asian beauty SPF products, I have a feeling they won’t be available for purchase at the Olive Young they’re opening in L.A. Some of these brands are reformulating their SPFs with the dated FDA-approved filters for sale in the U.S., but what makes the Asian beauty formulas so great are the advanced filters!

RE: Powder Blush - a lot of c- and k-beauty powder blushes have gone viral over the last 18 months (e.g. Romantic Beauty RMT Gradient blush). They look super bright in the pan but are actually very sheer and meant to layer over/ tone and set dewy cream blush for longer wear. I haven't swatched these new releases from western brands but I suspect they don't understand the "why" of those products virality. I, personally, love having the option to tone a pink cream blush with a sheer lavender powder blush to better match an eye or lip color.

RE basil frags: le labo makes a (shockingly) good body care line with a basil fragrance and it’s gorgeous. Sweet and herbal and peppery green with a little wet dirt undertone

RE powder blush- I think people are setting their cream blushes with it

RE the ordinary- it’s been literally 10 years since they announced their water color foundation and it’s still not out yet 💀
