Are Škodas FUN? - Skoda Octavia - BeamNG Mods

Today I'm testing the new Mk1 Škoda Octavia mod by Daniel XX. This mod brings both the sedan and wagon to the game, as well as several special variants like the vRS and the mighty WRC rally car!

In Greece we have these first gen diesels as taxis, they are pretty bulletproof with many racking up lots of kilometers

Ive driven in tons of these and that feeling of driving these cars in game and doing stupid things with them. Ive done a hotlap with the 1.9tdi one on the ring, beamng for now. This is the 1st mod i doenloaded for beamng and its awsome. Love swapping the GLX one with the 2.0T WRC engine. Theyre perfect for crusimg too

Since it was sold to 2010, it had the 2nd generation steering wheel. If it was based on the 2005 steering wheel it would have the Fabia 1 FL steering wheel (this one was 2010) + the cluster is from the 2nd generation FL Octavia and the steering wheel too, 2nd + is that the Elegance one has an steering wheel from the 2005 one.

Skoda rally history :
Skoda was rallying with rear engined cars in the 70's and 80's before the vw acquisition. In the late 80's and early 90's they were competing in the lower group a categories with front wheel drive hatchbacks like the favorit and the Felicia. In the late 90's to mid 00's they tried the WRC with the introduction of the world rally car regulations which stated that the manufacturer didn't have to homologate the car, it only had to look like the production version. First was the Octavia WRC which saw use from 99' to mid 03' with best result of 3rd in the 2001 safari rally (the vrs wrc was a celebration of the result). Then the MK1 fabia followed from mid 2003 until 2006. The car was a disaster and almost saw the podium only once in the hands of Colin mcrae in his one off appearance with the brand in the 2005 rally Australia, but had to retire due to complications with the clutch. After that skoda returned to junior rally racing and is competing even today with the fabia and is frankly dominating it's category

Laurin & Klement are the 2 original founders if Skoda. As this company is far more than a car firm, they are a massive engineering firm making everything from bicycles to boats and just about everything in between.

Cars are only a tiny part of what they actually have any involvement in really 👍

There's actually a decent Octavia Mk1 mod by KUBA for free. But most of the configs have awful engine sounds and it isn't as detailed as this mod. Can't wait for the full version!

My father has a second gen Octavia vRS. It's been upgraded from 200 to 300hp and it's a beast. Such a joy to drive. It's one of the best handling car of its generation

Hello, my family had Škoda Octavia pre-facelift 66kw 1.9 tdi and the car was amazing. Good handeling, acceleration, power it was a lovely car, yeah the good old times and color was pretty sweet too (we had the hot chilli one) BTW i live in Czech Republic

Yeah my family has one of these. Its in the parking down below. Silver diesel Elegance. Love that thing to bits. We also have a second gen facelift too. Skodas really are awesome.

UR litte bit wrong saying It was based on Passat, Octavia shared ptatform with VW Golf and Audi A3, passat baset Škoda came with second generation named is Superb.

hey it's a liftback, not sedan ;) my dad had '1997 model with different dashboard, with 'OCTAVIA' badge on it, to the right from dials. with that 1.8 20V engine, it produced 125hp afaik. that was nice, reliable and durable car. dad made 250k km in 4 years with only one issue (warranty case) - silent block at front started to creak too early

My dad had may Škoda vehicles and one of them was this Škoda Ocatvia. It came in dark violet with a petrol engine.

My father had a silver kinda base 1.9TDI that he mapped and lowered, he got it used and drove it until 2010
I'll definitely cheack that mod out just because of that lol

Also fun fact, there was once a Skoda racing game, I think it was mostly rally and more modern stuff
