My Favourite Films of 2019

I love that you have We the Animals on your list - it's a real poetic masterpiece! Like Moonlight, but I'd argue it's even better.

If there's one film I'd recommend to you from 2019, it would be Honey Boy.

I watched Hello Dolly for the first time this year as well, and I also loved it! Some of my favourites have been The Farewell, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Pain and Glory and Rocketman (to name some 2019 releases)!

What a great list! Several of these are new to me.

Some of my favourites this year include The Favourite, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, The Nightingale, The Day Shall Come, Apollo 11, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and Woman at War. My guilty pleasure was John Wick 3.

Also, I got to see Koyaanisqatsi for the first time on the big screen and it blew me away. I still listen to the soundtrack repeatedly.

I absolutely adored marriage story, booksmart, hustlers, Jojo Rabbit and Knives Out. Definitely have a lot to watch from this video now :)

The peanut butter Falcon, was one of my favorites this year. Tyler Nilson, Michael Schwartz wrote the screenplay and directed this movie for a young man they associated with that has Down syndrome. He wanted to star in his own movie. Loved this movie. You can watch clips and interviews with the actors and writers on YouTube. This movie can be rented on different media outlets.

Knives Out has become one of my favorite movies since I’ve seen it three days ago, would definitely recommend if you like great, fun mystery movies or movies with plot twists, surprises, etc. Amazing writing, amazing execution!

I’m only now getting around to watch this and it’s such an exciting list! I’ve only seen Marriage Story and Eighth Grade and loved them both. Some of these I’ve meant to watch but lots I’ve not heard of so added loads to my list. Thanks for the great video!

Orlando ( 1992 ) is one of the most visually beautiful films ive ever seen, also Brideshead Revisited the series not the movie is quite magical too!

One of my favorite films is “Leaving Normal.” It came out in 1992 and stars Meg Tilly, Christine Lahti, and Lenny von Dohlen. It is a beautiful story of two women looking for their place in the world.

Brilliant list!! Of those, I've seen hustlers and wild rose, and really enjoyed both. I read the sisters brothers but haven't watched it as yet. Some great recommendations!

Noah Baumbach is my man! His very first film Kicking and Screaming is one of my all time favorites (but how can you go wrong with Parker Posey in your cast?) Thanks for this list. In my copious amounts of spare time, I'm going to try to carve out some time to watch an Agnes Varda film on your recommendation.

I think the only new movies I’ve seen this year were Captain Marvel, Judy, Maleficent 2, Frozen 2, and I’m seeing Star Wars this coming week 👀

I am not going to mention well known movies, but I want to mention a really interesting Spanish movie called *"7 anos"* (7 years). It is a one location movie with very simple premise that will be apparent early on . 4 business partners and friends who were cheating in their Tax returns are about to be found out by authorities. The penalty is 7 years in prison. So, they get together to decide who take the sole blame rather than all of them go down.
