Anyone who refuses to buy a house because the walls are painted the "wrong" color.... needs to learn about paint stores. It's the easiest fix.

I am considering selling my home soon. I am uncomfortable with strangers coming into my home while I am not present. Who is watching them so your personal belongings are not taken? I have heard of many realtors waiting in the main hall while the prospective buyers have free reign to explore..

I have to add- if it’s a flipped house, I stay away. These flippers will replace perfectly good cabinets and countertops with ugly mismatched cabinets and countertops, paint natural stone, woodwork and bricks, but leave behind the 30 year old ac unit, the faulty ungrounded wiring and knocking pipes. I’ve seen bathrooms with four different metal tones and houses with five different flooring types. It makes my head spin and I know they did the flip on the cheapest possible budget, cutting corners wherever possible 😢

Before moving in I got the carpets cleaned, painted, cleaned and recaulked the bathrooms. I'm selling now and only doing the minimal. Unless the home is a new build and you picked the color and finishings you should expect to put some work in. As a buyer you should have a what can i live with for now attitude. Because if you wanted the kitchen a certain way or color a certain layout you would just go for it but maybe you can only afford this price range. For example there is no way you think you buying a home for under $300k and everything works, everything is the color and appliances you want. You get what you pay for. You can always fix and do other things down the line or what until you can afford what you really want

#8 - I just went through that. Arrived at the showing not only to find the homeowner present but the realtor asked the owner if she would like to "give us the tour!" Are you kidding me? The seller declined and sat in the den while we walked through but it was an unpleasant experience with me feeling uncomfortable about opening closets and cabinets and doing the normal things any potential buyer does during a showing.

Another thing to add to the "NO" list: do NOT add artificial fragrances; i.e., Room Fresheners/Scented Candles ! Many people these days have chemical sensitivities (I'm one of them), and will become physically ill when exposed to such things. When we were looking for homes to buy, we ruled out even viewing several of them when we were bombarded with fake smells at the door of the house. Just sayin'.

If it is so easy for the seller to “just” paint a room, then it is just as easy for the buyer to do it. In fact easier as they can do it before moving in, when empty. Buyers today have no imagination and cannot see the bones of a home. It is not easy to paint. It costs hundreds of $ if one uses a good paint at $90 a 4 L can, plus one has to wash the walls with TSP, rinse, rinse again. Fill in holes, sand, maybe have to fill again, sand and sand, then prime, then first coat then 2 nd coat. I know, my hubby has done this a lot. And it takes about 10 days or more with the correct wait times between coats.

The teller at my bank moved from Russia. Her house in Russia had wooden floors. When she moved to the USA she couldn't wait to have wall-to-wall carpet in her house. Now, carpet is out and wood floors in. That will probably change again in 20 years.

I have a 4000 gallon Koi pond in my backyard. Do you think we should keep it or fill it and convert it to nice garden with rocks? It's a ton a maintenance. Do most buyers like Koi ponds?

There are two rooms I wanted to paint but my agent said not to bother. She also told me not to bother fixing my low water pressure and dishwasher but I'm doing it all anyway. Why would she tell me not to bother? I don't get it!

Luxury vinyl plank is an oxymoron. What you actually mean is cheap plastic flooring. It is the modern equivalent of vinyl stick on tiles.

" Trouble " S👀ing "Past" Other's Furnishing's & "Imagining" Their's in the Home. Also A-l-o-t of People have Way " TOO MUCH STUFF " !!! Total TURN-OFF. People are There to S👀 the HOME. I will Leave. "✋️"
