BOAS refers to obstruction of the airways, effecting breathing and quality of life. It effects brachycephalic breeds such as:

French Bulldogs
Bulldogs
Pugs
Pekingese
Shih tzus
Japanese Chins
Boxers
Boston terriers

Dogs suffering from BOAS may have issues with their nostrils, tonsils, larynx and soft palate. They may have a reduced quality of life and limited ability to do the same things non-brachycephalic breeds can do easily.
