in my own personal opinion, The Beatles' Second Album is by far the very best of the entire U.S. album catalog. this album totally rocks from start to finish. to actually have both the STEREO and MONO mixes from 1964 on one single CD is a true stroke of genius. furthermore; in addition to its appearance in the volume one box set, the Second Album was also released as a stand-alone CD - once again with both the original STEREO and MONO mixes together. a must-have!

Thank you for posting this video. I can never get enough of the Beatles!

I am late in the game commenting on this video but I grew up listening to the Beatles on Capital (Including VeeJay's "Introducing the Beatles"). I listened to them so much that I could probably tell you the song order on each Capital record. Because of that to this day I still have a hard time listening to the British albums and their song order. Nice video by the way.

Not all the albums had fold-down mono on Vol. 2. It was on two albums, 'Beatles VI' and 'Rubber Soul'. Apple/Capitol rectified it by sending out corrected copies of the 2 CDS by mail exchange at that time.

I got the Capitol box sets, and i'm just happy to have them. My volume 2 has the fold down mono mixes and i kinda like them. They're unique. I think that's how some of the albums were released back in the 60's. And show how badly Capitol has continually handled the Beatle catalog in thr last 60+ years. Great video.

Nice video. You should get poly CD sleeves for those loose covers. Very affordable protection

The US Album release packaging is incredible. The Gate Fold Help Album, The Beatles Story Album. The original Butcher cover on Yesterday and Today, with included reissued album cover ( The Trunk Cover) on a sticker. It’s a shame they used the 2009 CD Mixes. But that is now considered cannon. The Capitol Albums Volume 1 and 2 where great because it was the original Dave Dexter Remixes saturated in reverb. If you grew up in america in the 1960’s and 70’s these were the only way we experienced The Beatles. I was not aware that there was a folded down mono version on two of the CD’s on Volume 2. Since these Cd Packages are now out of Print how do you know you are getting the fixed version of Volume 2? Is there a new catalog number ?

Recent US albums box uses all UK mixes from the 2009 remasters. A big fail from Apple.

VeeJay" released "Introducing The Beatles" (12 tracks from "Please Please Me") in September, 1963. I heard them on Chicago radio in October, 1963 (VeeJay was located in Chicago). Capitol ultimately sued VeeJay, which was on its last legs, and thus "The Early Beatles".

The first batch of the second box had an error in the "stereo" mix of "I've Just Seen a Face". That set floods the market. Finding the subsequent release is near-impossible.

For vol 1, try putting first the discs then the booklet!!!

I always thought that the mono version that was on this set were fold downs.
I had the US Albums but I had to sell it for personal reasons but I just got it for the packaging. The original pressings that were in mono but those were fold downs of the stereo. The US Albums aren't that accurate with the songs cause they've used the 2009 remasters in half of the songs which were asinine. But the package looked great.

I just played a CD of the new project-based UA label "A Hard Day's Night soundtrack-ALL vocals!!-here's the lineup:A Hard Day's Night(film mix-"should I moan"bass line included/early fade, as in the film), I Should Have Known Better, If I Fell, I'm Happy Just To Dance With You, And I Love Her(slower mix, as in the film), Tell Me Why(film mix, with different vocal phrasings by John), Can't Buy Me Love, I'll Cry Instead(complete 2:05 mix, as on Something New North American mono lp), Don't Bother Me('78 Purple label Canadian mix with extra, misplaced "don't", All My Loving(hi-hat mix, exclusively issued in Germany)You Can't Do That&She Loves You(Reverbed US 2nd Album mixes)! This was the Mono mix version of the AHDN program.

Just listened to Something New from my volume one set on Saturday. Regrettably, never purchased volume two and now its gone up in price and from what I hear later versions of these sets have the British mixes not the Dave Dexter mixes.

Electrifying! Exciting! Full of energy. Grungy. Fun! That’s the advantage the Capitol versions have over the U.K. versions.

I am looking to have Giles Martin, the Abbey Road crew and Universal issue the 20 album set, featuring EVERY track in Mono AND Stereo, along with unique mixes originally issued in the US, Canada, UK, and Germany-all included in the set-also SHES A WOMAN and I FEEL FINE in BOTH Mono and Stereo, in BOTH the original dry UK mixes AND The George Martin remixed reverb versions that were features on the original Beatles'65 lp.The Capiphone project does remixed from the dry mix for Stereo, from the UK stereo, added the reverb and with Sonic correction, matches IN TRUE STEREO, finally the reverbed included is the debut of 4 film mixes-A Hard Day's Night, Tell Me Why, Help(with reverb), as well as a debut of the Single mix in Twin-track Stereo!!And a LOT more in

You should have mentioned that 96 percent of US Albums box set are not US Capitol Masters, but '09 UK re-masters. Beatles 2nd Album without the US added reverb definitely loses quite a bit of its' totally rockin' solid punch.

Only Rubber Soul + Beatles VI were Mono mess ups. Early Beatles + Help are fine. I have the corrected Vol. 2. Can burn Rubber Soul + Beatles VI if you'd like.
