What's in a Name? Everything. Our special investigation into the Bassano secret Jewish musical family of Renaissance Venice and the the smoking pun showing why they are the true authors of Shakespeare.
Dr. Peter D. Matthews reveals the forensic clues that will rewrite history. Peter, a Shakespearean scholar, philosopher is the author of 17 academic papers and 3 books about the Bassano's dynasty tracing all the way back to ancient Israel and the Golden age of Spain. His new book "A Comprehensive Summary of Shakes-peare's Sonnets" unravels the truth that poet Emilia Bassano is the author of the Sonnets.
A special thanks to prolific composer @LorettaKayFeld for her original music and also being the voice of Emilia Bassano.

Jeronimo Bassano is my 11th great grandparent on my mother's side via the Laniers. I am in the process of finishing an Orthodox conversion to Judaism and have my final meeting with the Beit Din on Monday after two years of working with them. I found this out today when doing my family tree and am crying. I have always felt so connected to the Jewish people and didn't know that I actually have Jewish ancestors, let alone Kabbalistic Sephardim. I am so floored.

being a Lanier / Bassano descendant I was always raised christian, I never knew of my Ancestors who may in fact be Jewish, this opens a whole new book for me to read in a figurative sense

Jeronimo Bassano is my 11th great grandfather via my Paternal line. That whole side of my family has had a knack for playing violin/fiddle with no formal instruction and i could play a song on the piano by ear since 8 years old. I also have a love of theater, film and the arts

I am sincerely grateful to you Emily and the entire team at i24 for producing this incredible piece. You did an excellent job, and even made my poor performance look good. The blending of the scenes of the plays was an absolute masterpiece, and the COVID mask brought a welcome satire touch. Thank you so much!

This is fascinating. I have been researching my bloodline and ancestors, which is how I got to this video. My maiden name is Bozzano but I have traced down its origins to Bassan, as well. I am of the line that stayed in Italy until the 1800s, then migrated to South America. They were naval people and boat builders up until my father's generation, but all of us with a fascination for arts and mysticism. I am very fond of writing, for instance.
I'm definitely interested in learning more about this research! Gratitude.

I needed this because I’m doing family research for an upcoming family reunion and I found out I’m related to the Bassano, Lanier, De Nasi And Al-Lorqi Families

de Bazan is from Batzan!
their heraldry isnt even the same! they may be not the same as Bassano, however Peter Matthews does say de Bazan is the former Surname
so I do not know, but Batzan didn't use a Balsam tree but a chequy and bordure
so I dont believe they are the same family if the "basssanos" are from Bashan, and later from Bassano del Grappa apparently adopting the place due to the similar name, Bassaneus the Roman originated the place's name but appatently Bashan Syria is Bassanos name?

This has also been refuted by other scholars who say they’re not Jewish. It’s important that we know all the facts. They’re in my family tree and no one in my family has Jewish ancestry. No one. One of the Bassano brothers is my distant grandfather. And Elina di NAZZI my distant grandmother.

I am descended from the Basanno Family on my mother’s side. Surprisingly, no Jewish DNA shows up, however, it does show 1% Spanish.

It’s been proven since your video Bassano family is not Jewish. Research further. Bassani snd the Lanier family are my 11th great grandfathers.
