If you think the engineer screws you over, you should see what the accountant dose to the engineer

You forgot to mention it also acts as a self-applying undercoat. God forbid that crossmember rusts

I love how you say Engineers never make a mistake. Wish someone would have told our Shipyard Engineer that. Had me cut a hole for pipes when I was a welder. Tried to explain it was not a good idea and why due to the location. I ended up cutting the hole to prove a point. "What do you see sir? Cause I can see outside of the ship now. How are we supposed to run a pipe outside of the ship?" Only cost the company $50, 000 in repairs. It's not like we had to cut the whole section out and start over. Oh wait... Yeah we did.

I call those “oil inspection bars” since it fans the oil out and you can see the color better 🤣

As an Engineer that was a Mechanic for a while first, let me apologize but let me direct your frustration towards management and the people who estimate the budget. Usually stuff like this will be caught early and then we're told that there isn't budget to redesign the chassis or change the oil pan, both teams that could solve the problem basically already know that their departments won't let them fix something like this that never impacts the customer so it just kind of exists.

When you see the price to fix your car, you can blame an engineer

This guy constantly proves that mechanics always let the joke drive past them

Some old Fords had two oil plugs because the oil pan curved over the frame rail so you actually did have two separate drain flows about a foot apart

This was a cross member rust preventative measure.

“You can always tell an engineer, but you can’t tell him much” ! As he thinks he already knows everything .
