Flares....flares act as decoys for many enemies. Nice for luring enemies out of hiding in caves. Nice video. We have been in great need of tutorial/ help vids for awhile.

Remember: things don't respawn in wrecks/ruins/stations, so after you've made sure there's nothing alive in there, you can grab a crate and go back for all of the loot you've missed. Having a locker full of junk to deconstruct is almost always better than having an empty locker. And even if you don't have a deconstructor, you can always sell all of it.

Also, if possible, DO *NOT* approach a wreck directly from above! If you do, there are two possibilities - either nothing will happen, or your sub will be turned into swiss cheese by a Thalamus and boarded by Terminal Cells. And if you don't have any anaparalyzant with you, then...

When handling artifacts, craft some artifact transport cases. It will allow you to bring the artifact in your inventory or other container without the risk and it will free your hands to use other tools. You can also find artifacts on your way by looking at a bit more shinier part when using active sonar. They sell for a bit on outposts and there's practically no risk when using the cases. Cheers.

Bringing a shuttle is another good idea for caves and mining missions. If it's small enough it might fit inside the cave and then it'll act like a giant inventory crate you can dump everything in before heading back to the main submarine.

Not really a noob who needs guides in baro and I stumbled upon this in my recommended somehow. Your content is great and underrated. I wish the best for you.

Thermal goggle also helps a lot during abandoned station missions. It marks nearby living things with red so you know what's behind a door. Personally I prefer shotguns to automatic weapons because shotgun can easily knock enemies down, which allows for easy follow-up shots.

Didn’t know I had to actually drag the hostages back onto my submarine. Extremely helpful.

After a little bit of time later, I realized I could just give them the order to return to the submarine.

Here's a mediocre tip : You can bring your crew with you while salvaging/mining, it is a lot more safer but kinda risk friendly fire.
I honestly would be really appreciated if they have trigger discipline because i've been shot more than the attackers which aka are mudrapter - Crawler - Spineling.

Late to the party as usual, and I'm guessing a lot of people already know this one, but the handheld status monitor the Mechanic can fabricate will set itself to whatever structure you're in so it can work as a map for beacons, alien ruins, and wrecks. You just have to be inside one of the hulls. If you can bring one of those along they can save you a LOT of trouble.

A tip for ruins, bring friend and don't take alien pistol, harpoon deal more damage as guardians can bleed to death, another tip for wrecks could be taking a metal crate, with tool belts if you can since it makes whole crate capacity x6 unless item can't be hidden in tool belt and since you will go slow it won't bother you too much as you can put it down, open door, neutralize enemy, patch up your wounds if needed and move on

Underwater sonar is really helpful for mining as it allows to see where the ore is.

Thank you for this video. As a new and struggling solo player this info is absolutely vital.

Additional tips for single player:
- Always bring Artie Dolittle alongside you. Despite having *little* on all stats, he's a *huge* asset in manning the gun at the start if you have no Security Officers and Weapons is quite easy to level up.
- You must always have the five main jobs in your sub as they have various talents fitted for the job. Assistants can handle the miscellaneous tasks of the ship or bringing an extra hand. I recommend a 5/5 setup (5 jobs and 5 assistants) to ease the run.
- Something that wasn't mentioned in this video, cargo scooters are quite helpful if you're planning to grab loots in wrecks or mining.
- Buy a tool belt for everyone. They should be filled with 2 slots of ammo, 1 slot of bandages, 1 slot of saline, and the remaining 2 slots can be filled by whichever you want.
- Something also not stated in this video, stats are also vital when having encounters. One of the examples is when talking to an anxious captain. When you ask to give him the map and your Helm is high, the chances of failure in the conversation is lower.
- Despite the video saying junction boxes are vital, fuel efficiency and hulls are more important, especially with the Jovian Radiation. Junction boxes are not that important when you're in a safer environment and they are only needed to be bothered when you're already near around the middle of the Ice Caverns and beyond, which you may meet Black Molochs most of the time.
- Another thing not mentioned in the video, you will always need at least 1 heavy powered gun such as a railgun to deal with pesky Watchers, Molochs, Latchers or any Abyss creatures when you get farther into the game.
- You don't need to fix everything in the beacon station. You can leave one part of the hull broken as long as the pumps can drain the flood faster or there's a door that blocks the flood.
- It's usually better to have a mission when you go, as long as it isn't cargo or escort. You can still focus on mining and gathering resources when you have a salvage or vessel missions.

When boarding beacon stations or wrecks, using a plasma cutter to cut a section of hull above the door to flood the room has helped my a lot, once the room is flooded you can open the door without getting sucked in, saved me from husks many times

one tip i somehow found out is that the end of the beam from your plasma cutter burns hotter than any other part of it, which means that mining and getting doors open is quite a bit faster

I usually dont bring any oxygen tanks to wreck salvages, since they are pretty easy to loot, and you can find diving suits and oxygen tanks down there.

pro tip: learn the wiring in this game, it is half the fun

I love beacon stations inhabited by pirates. There's something great about clearing out something other than monsters (preferably by drowning them), repairing systems, restarting generators and bringing a beacon back on.

Thanks man, eventhough I've playe alot of this game and I knew pretty much everything from this video, I still appreciate how well made is your video. Its helpful and there is no messing around. Just straight fact and that what I like to see, because when you are new to this game, you dont know what are you doing and these types of videos are very useful. Good job!

for wreck salvages I've taken to the "swiss cheese" approach, spraying the ship with chain guns until you can see through the entire thing, sometimes you might lose some stuff, but at least you don't turn into a husk.. most of the time
