One thing Gearbox knows is that their fans are VERY discerning. With a creative partnership spanning over a decade of production music and main titles themes for AAA releases, Gearbox and SAM finally found their rhythm with a sonic identity that speaks to the gaming masses.

With a target demo of 12 – 44, this had to be fun, engaging, and work with a well-known graphic mark.

Sometimes you catch lightning in a bottle. Which is what happened when SAM Production Manager, Jesus Garcia recorded his 6 yr old son yelling “Gearbox."

We knew we had a winner – and with over 100m units shipped using this brand, and consistent (mostly positive) questions from their fans on where this came from – Gearbox knew it as well.
