It's not up to the community alone to deal with poverty among Knoxville's black citizens. What's in the Mayor's budget..What's in the ultra conservative Governor's budget to address poverty among the state's black population. Concerned citizens, concerned individuals should demand better treatment and application of Medicare within the black community! Religion only accounts for so much; action by city and state governing officials is urgent!

Part of the solution is for blacks to stop waiting on someone else to lift them you up. Stay in school, educate yourself, work and don’t create families until you are able to formally provide for one.

You're not a slave anymore, you shouldn't expect someone else to care for you.

Why not try taking better care of yourselves for a change? Stop treating yourselves as powerless wards of the state!

Majority of the black Americans (descendants of USA chattel slavery) population in Tennessee is in west Tennessee! She’s in East Tennessee aka the mountains which has the lowest black population historically-present day

This is the weakest, most one sided “report” I’ve ever seen... It’s not the job of Knoxville to “take care” of black people.
