Oriana Bandiera's presentation at the 2018 Royal Economic Society Annual Public Lecture, which took place at the University of York on 28/11/2018. Oriana is the Sir Anthony Atkinson professor of economics & director of STICERD (Suntory & Toyota International Centres for Economics) at the London School of Economics.

The Royal Economic Society is one of the oldest and most prestigious economic associations in the world. It is a learned society, founded in 1890 to promote the study of economic science.

Gathering data, by its nature, can only be done for those data from the path. Seeing questions like 1:08:23 which from 2018, I once again get recalled from the idea that history is a series of observations of the world we live in as a data generating process, while answering questions out of distribution requires another set of reasoning.
