ANA[DIA]LOG MixTape Vol. 2 (pre-production)

Time for a new MixTape! This time we are going to create a tape with rock ballads of the 90's. As always, you must choose not too famous tracks but good tracks! Ready to participate? Follow the instructions below and send your file for the final volume 2 compilation!

RULES TO PARTICIPATE:
- Deadline: September 11th
- No suggestions, only audio file submissions
- You must send ONLY 1 file in WAV or FLAC or other lossless codecs
- Only ONE submission per person please!
- The file must have a minimum resolution of 44.1Khz 16bits (CD quality), Better if sourced from reel to reel tape or quiet vinyl.
- Please do not choose long songs, maximum length 5:00 min.
- The Song must have been issues between 1990 and 1999
- The Song must belong to a pop-rock type of music (not too hard) in the form of a ballad
- Avoid very famous songs.
- If songs do not comply to the above indications they will be discarded
- If the number of submitted songs is very high, the process may be interrupted before time and the song may not be downloaded.
- Ana[dia]log retains the right to make a selection among the submitted song based on the criteria established above.

Ok I’m in! I just found this but I need to watch it on my laptop instead so I hope I am still within the deadline. So please don’t end it yet!

I love tape projects like this and in fact have launched two very successful ones in the past through my Facebook audio group Phonogram. They are called Phonogram Traveling Tape Projects. We did the first one in 2015 and the second one way back in 2017.

What is the best cassette recorder to transfer old almost and 40 year old tapes to digital -or what the lowest is should go ? I will buy one soon but , I have old cassettes with MFSL vinyl on them and some live recording from radio broadcast. Cassettes used maxwell, sony (blue ) Basf (green ferro), A Occasional agfa, TDK normal + chrome, maybe some other us brand and a rare swedish brand named TRACK (normal ferro) + that MFSL chrome I got Steely Dan that aged bad.

90s' rock ballads? That's a tough assignment, cos when you say "rock ballads of the 90s" and I'm like "oh, were there any???" 90s were dominated by grunge, then post-grunge and finally the nu-metal thing, an I hardly recall any ballads from those. If it were 80s rock ballads it would be very easy, there was a whole lot of material to choose from.
