We use it all the time in dentistry… it’s called cord and it’s placed around your tooth when you get a crown 👑🦷 or with some fillings as well and then it’s removed before you leave the office. So no worries about finding this in your tooth at home. Unless of course they forgot to remove it at the dentist! 😂

PS when I was a dental assistant I LOVED watching the cord removal it was sooo satisfying (which makes sense because I have that same feeling now when scaling off buildup from the teeth)! 🦷

It's placed intentionally in the naturally occurring space between the gum and tooth, usually when you're getting a crown. It's generally safe and is only in for a few minutes.
It's not impossible to cause some damage with it, in the same way a hairdresser can burn you with the curling iron.
A good dental team will be more careful than that though.
