📈 Using search data from Google, let's look at the development of the popularity of the main 3D design software around the world by years, from 2004 to 2020. Objective indicators of Google Trends show the relative popularity of the query: 100 points mean the maximum interest in the topic, and 0 - insufficient information on her. For historical rankings, I used the aggregation of several national surveys to establish multiple data points as well as the frequency of publications around the world.

Until 2008, the leaders in 3D planning were Vectorworks and Archicad, developed by Graphisoft, a Soviet startup headquartered in Budapest, Hungary. In 2007, the German company Nemetschek buys out Graphisoft, and apparently with the purchase of the company, the development of new tools for Vectorworks and Archicad has slowed down. At the same time, Revit began to actively pull ahead immediately after the end of the 2008 global crisis. At the moment, Revit has almost a fold advantage over its next rival Archicad. Why is there such a big difference, and what is so secret about Revit that other programs don't?

Based on search data, not neccesarily sales. Probably those search coming from people having difficulty learning the software as its not user friendly at all

Archicad ha crecido considerablemente en América Latina, además hay otros sofwares que le están quitando mercado a Revit, cómo: Acca (Edificius), Vectorworks, AECO Sim, Rhino, Rickcad, etc .

Monopoly leads to price gouging. We're very happy with Vectorworks at £444/year maintenance.

Where are the Bentley products? and so called "smart plan" (which is not smart at all in my opinion".
If you account "Tekla" you must take into account Prostructure (Prosteel and Proconcrete), Advance Steel. I don't think the video is representative of reality.
May be the numbers compared in the video may ba they accurate but not all software that taken into account. JUST MY OPINION

¿Vectorworks es compatible con Windows?...

I can't trust this result at all. REVIT is extremely difficult to use and so many people like allplan or tekla much more than Revit.

Revit is very poor software and is only where it is now because of Autodesk's aggressive behavior. Although it has many tools, most of them are not compatible with each other. Allplan/Vectorworks are a lot better and also cheaper.
