From Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the NBC series revolving around Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), a New York City Police Department (NYPD) detective in Brooklyn's fictional 99th Precinct, who often comes into conflict with his commanding officer, the serious and stern Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher). The series also stars Terry Crews as Sargeant Terry Jeffords, Melissa Fumero as Amy Santiago, Stephanie Beatriz as Rosa Diaz, Chelsea Peretti as Gina Linetti and Joe Lo Truglio as Charles Boyle.

Seeing Rosa playing Amy was really cool, since Stephanie Beatriz actually auditioned to play Amy in the first place.

Finding out that Stephanie‘s actual voice is waaay higher than Rosa‘s was a turning point in my life.

Stephanie has range, so serious range, her voices change so much from show to show along with her character, but her actual character is a fun loving and more of soft centered

She spoke on this. She went to the audition after working out and being sick, so she had a deeper, raspier voice. When she got the job, she used her normal voice. After a little while, producers asked her what happened, and told her to go back to the voice she used during her audition.

I remember Stephanie’s interview during a podcast where she said that the Rosa voice wasn’t planned in advance due to her straining her voice before the audition. Due to her getting the part, Stephanie had to find that Rosa voice for the character during the show

3:16 the voice acting here is incredible. Shes speaking in her normal voice, but still pretending to be doing a fake voice and the Rosa voice cracks through her normal voice.

I never noticed the voice change. It was gradual enough, to me, that it just became normal...and awesome. And plenty of shows have had characters find their voice, both literal and figurative. Also, I freaked out a little bit the Stephanie was on the Pistol Shrimp's dance squad.

Incredible voice acting detail here. She starts screaming in her Rosa voice but the scream shifts into her real voice 3:26

Stephanie is amazing. She went into labor during her solo song on Encanto but finished the recording.. and they kept it!
Also fun fact her daughter’s name is Rosalina.. so basically Rosa ❤

It's really fun to see how Stephanie slowly grew into the character and "shaped" Rosa's voice. Her vocal range is absurd. Funny that she was originally cast to play Luisa in _Encanto_ because of her Brooklyn Nine-Nine reputation, but they found out how soft her voice could be and put her as Mirabel.

No exaggeration, I've rewatched B99 over a dozen times and STILL find it hilarious. I noticed Rosa's voice change from day one but that's the beauty of pilots, it's seeing the actors go from what's on the page to finding their own ways to make the character unique.

Seeing this is incredible, it was so gradual over the course of the show that I never even noticed. But watching this back, the first clips sounded completely different. She really does have impressive vocal range
