As a Greek, may I please add a few more jobs that we have a shortage of: a. farmers, b. animal breeders, c. taking care of old people at homes (yes, we are an aging nation), d. builders, plumbers, electricians, gardeners, pool, anything that has to do with house restoration and maintenance, e. IT engineers, videographers, photographers, f. cleaners, g. nails, makeup artists, hair stylists in touristic areas (yes, women spend a lot on their looks), h. miners (for example, we have a Canadian company in Halkidiki which mines gold and many foreigners work there), i. shipping industry (Greece has the largest fleet of cargo ships in the world).

What we don't have a shortage of are jobs that require a University degree as most of the Greeks study at the University but then they have to move abroad because they cannot find a job here (yes, we have a serious brain drain of highly educated people).

PS. If you come to Greece on a hot sunny day, please be careful as your life can be in danger from the extreme heat. Avoid going out during midday. As for the A/C bill, good luck!

I did a seasonal job in Crete for 5 months as animator-entertainer and it was fun! It was 6 days of work with allocated 1 day off only on Sundays. I didnt pay rent and also i was eating hotel food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its perfect for someone who enjoys talking to people or playing sports/games/dancing with kids 😄 must say that i didnt see much of Crete because 1 day off isnt enough, but i saw main beaches and managed some day trips to cities! My fave places are Rethymno and Triopetra beach and also Iguana beach next to Xania 😊
