Analysis of Ozymandias by Percy Shelley

This tutorial video takes an in-depth look at one of the most famous romantic era poems, Ozymandias. The poem, Ozymandias was written by Percy Bysshe Shelley and first published in 1818.

Ozymandias is written in the sonnet form and explores themes such as the transience of power, the beauty and power of art and nature vs humanity. Shelley portray's an anti-authoritarian message, mocking the power of kings and emperors who believe they are all powerful, yet whose empires, in time, crumble away.

Thank you very much Sir, beyond the likes I have learnt alot from the poem. The didactic nature and also the structures of the poem . I read the poem in my first year but I can see more in my second year as a literature student. Thank you very much once again.
