Romberg test on vespa in Rome, (see, balance, feel feet on ground) - Need to see where your going (vision), vestibular function (balance and vespa in vesta), and proprioception (feel your sense like feet on the ground before you start riding). (rome in romberg test)

thank you for this video, I struggle with remembering mnemonics and symptoms in my lectures so I will keep coming back to this video and all your videos! Appreciate the creativeness, keep doing that you're doing!

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:

00:00 🧠 Mnemonics are a useful tool for stepping towards expertise but shouldn't replace understanding the subject.
00:14 🛠️ Crafting personal mnemonics can be more memorable than using pre-made ones.
00:43 📝 The acronym "I RECALL" is introduced as a mnemonic to describe the creation of effective mnemonics.
00:57 🎯 Mnemonics should be reserved for the most important information to maintain their effectiveness.
01:39 🗑️ Ineffective mnemonics, such as one for deep cerebellar nuclei, were removed in book revisions due to lack of clinical relevance.
01:54 🎓 Mnemonics should be relevant to a specific situation or context to be useful in practice or on tests.
03:06 💡 Emotional engagement can significantly enhance the memorability of mnemonics.
04:15 ⚔️ Mnemonics need to be distinct and unique to prevent confusion with other topics.
04:56 🔗 Effective mnemonics must be easily associable with the concepts they represent.
06:19 📚 Using a thesaurus can help find associable and distinct elements for mnemonics.
06:36 🔗 Mnemonics must be easily recalled in the context they will be used, like during tests or patient encounters.
07:44 🧠 Mnemonics without a clear link to the topic are less effective and were updated in book revisions.
08:13 🧩 Scrabble solvers can aid in creating mnemonics by finding words that link letters together meaningfully.
08:30 🏋️‍♂️ Mnemonics should be as concise as possible to avoid overloading and diminishing recall ability.
08:43 📚 For mnemonics with lengthy information like the 12 cranial nerves, it's necessary to include all relevant items even if they exceed 10.
09:11 🧠 The mnemonic for PTSD diagnostic criteria using the word 'TRAUMA' is important and relevant for diagnosis in both tests and clinical settings.
09:25 🔗 'TRAUMA' directly links to the concept of PTSD, making it an effective mnemonic despite not being particularly emotionally provocative.
10:07 👂 The mnemonic for auditory hallucinations in schizophrenia was important and relevant but not effectively linked to the condition or emotionally engaging.
10:49 ✂️ The original mnemonic was not distinct enough for schizophrenia and could be confused with other psychiatric conditions.
11:03 🧩 The revised mnemonic 'VAGUE ODD LIARS' enhances relevance and emotional engagement but sacrifices some associability.
11:59 🧠 The creator invites viewers to create a mnemonic for the Romberg maneuver in neurology, linking it to proprioception, vestibular function, and vision.

I am a fan and have bought the 3 lovely and mnemonics filled books 📚- the first editions. But just last week I noticed the 2nd editions was out with some new mnemonics. I have bought the kindle version of memorable neurology last week and I must say, there is no better book on neurology and psychiatry like memorable neurology and psychiatry

"PS....cd-ROMs are still used by PRO VIntage VEST wearers."
Romberg test: PROprioception, VESTibular function and VIsion
PS=Positive test, sensory ataxia

CD-ROMs are a relatively older, one could say vintage, technology. The pro vintage vest wearer is one who has not given up on the past's fads both technologically and stylistically (vintage vest wearing).
